Hurricane Matthews tore it’s way through the Caribbean and the US Southeast last week, leaving many with wind and flooding damage.  Two areas of concern to the REC are the Charleston area of South Carolina, where the Diocese of the Southeast has many older churches, and the budding RE Church of Cuba.  Early reports are that no lives were lost, but power and phones are still out in eastern South Carolina and damage is still being assessed.  No buildings were lost in Cuba either, but the farm crop on which several churches there depend seems to have been damaged.  Direct assistance can be channeled through Bishop Dorrington of the RE Diocese of Western Canada and Cuba, HERE.  Pray for recovery efforts and opportunities to witness to the saving love of Jesus.  ARDF, the relief and development arm of the ACNA, has established an assistance fund that will be channeled through ACNA diocese as needed.  Details are HERE.
