R.E. Seminary Spring Events

Spring Events coming up at Reformed Episcopal Seminary:

SEMINARY SUNDAY – The Diocese has designated Sunday, April 30 as Seminary Sunday. Please celebrate this as close to that date as possible.  A bulletin insert is downloadable HERE.

OPEN HOUSE – The Reformed Episcopal Seminary is hosting an Open House on Thursday, May 4, 2017 for people interested in learning more about the Seminary and our programs. Whether you are considering a seminary degree, taking a class or two, or just want to know more about us, please join us at 10:00 am for an opportunity to meet current students, faculty, and Seminary alumni, take a tour of campus, visit our bookstore, sit in on a class, and learn about the Seminary’s history, mission, and plans for the future.

A flyer is attached to this email with more information about the Open House including directions to the Seminary. Please feel free to share this handout with friends and colleagues and post it on your church bulletin board.

If you are planning to attend, we ask that you register by Monday, April 24 so that we can plan appropriately. FoRES BANQUET – The Friends of the R.E. Seminary are planning a luncheon banquet at St. Mark’s R.E. Church in Rydal, PA for Saturday, May 6th at noon.  The speaker will be Fr. Eddie Rix.  The catering service will come from a local restaurant owned by the family of one of our current students.  Students, faculty, staff and alumni will be present to talk to.  Please contact the Seminary Office at 610-292-9852 to let us know you are coming.


COMMENCEMENT – The graduating class of 2017 will process on Saturday, June 3 at 10 AM at St. Paul’s R.E. Church in Oreland, PA.  The Commencement speaker will be Dr. Julius Barnes, Dean and President of Cummins Theological Seminary in Summerville, SC.  Recognition awards will be presented to current and graduating students.  A reception sponsored by Friends of R.E. Seminary (FoRES) will follow the ceremony.  All are invited.


SPECIAL INTENSE COURSE – The Rt. Rev. John Fenwick, Bishop Primus of the Free Church of England and well known scholar will be at the Seminary the week of June 19-June 23, offering a course on Anglican Ecclesiology.  Bishop Fenwick has published many books and articles including his most recent work Anglican Ecclesiology and the Gospel, which will serve as one of the texts for the course.  This is an excellent course for lay leaders, vestry members, and clergy who want to better under the Anglican Church and its tradition.  It is also excellent for students who want to earn some credits over the summer.  Limited housing is available on campus and there are reduced rates available at nearby hotels.  Please mark your calendars now and e-mail admissions@reseminary.edu to reserve your spot for this informative course.  (Tuition and fees for this three credit course are $675 for credit and $185 for audit.  Limited scholarships are available.)
