Diocesan Council 2016 was held Thursday and Friday, November 3-4, at St. Stephen’s R.E. Church in Eldersburg, MD and Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, MDTurfValley3, where it was in 2014 and 2011.  This page contains registration information and downloadable reports that all delegates are expected to read before Council.  All reports should be posted by the Wednesday one week before Council, October 26th.  A PDF package of reports will be emailed to all registered delegates at that time.

Call for Nominations

To Rectors and Diocesan Members, From the Nominations Committee:

Nominations to the Diocesan Standing Committee, Board of Trustees, and Board of Directors for the Seminary are vitally important to the life of our Diocese. These committees are essential to the health and work of our Diocese.

Standing Committee: The Standing Committee deals with spiritual and disciplinary matters related to clergy and parishes. People elected to this board must be spiritually mature, understand the structure of the Diocese and able to deal with confidential issues. Most meeting are handled by conference call, however, and occasional face to face meeting may be necessary from time to time.
Trustees of the Diocese: The trustees handle the budgetary and other financial matters for the diocese. They meet twice per year for face to face meetings, and occasionally a conference call meeting is required. It is helpful if people who have business or financial expertise are elected to this board.
Seminary Board of Directors: Members of this Board serve in a governance capacity over the Seminary. People with experience in fundraising, business, non-profit corporations or academia are welcome. The Board meets three times per year, with occasional conference call meetings.

Please carefully and prayerfully consider nominating godly men and women from your parish. While it is true that we do not have a large turn over each year, we need names of qualified people to fill slots each year. If we get more names than openings, we will keep the names for future reference.

You may email your nominations to me or to any member of the committee, or to the Diocesan Office for forwarding to the committee.  Nominations for Fall 2016 are requested by Friday, October 14th.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Registration for NE&MA Diocesan Council 2016:



CLICK HERE  to transfer to the RegOnline registration website for Diocesan Council.  This is the same site we have used in the past years, so you may already have an account.  You can click “forgot password” to have the system send a link to reset your account.

Registration fee includes Thursday lunch and dinner costs as well as Council overhead.  Standard registration fee is $135; during the month of September early registrations will enjoy a discount of $10.  Your registration receipt email contains links to print a receipt, get directions, or change your registration details.

Hotel Reservation Instructions:


Rooms are still available at Turf Valley Resort, where our Council meetings will be held Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.  The deadline for our discounted room block has expired, so current TVR rates will apply.  Reservations can be made by phone by calling 1-888-833-8873, or online using THIS LINK by filling out the approproate dates desired and clicking CHECK AVAILABILITY.

Delegates to Council are expected to make their own reservations with the hotel.  Any problems or changes to reservations should be directed to hotel staff.

The hotel is located where SR 40 diverges from Interstate 70, four miles west of the intersection with SR 29 and eight miles west of Interstate 695.  Directions and maps to the hotel are online HERE.  For GPS, the address is:  2700 Turf Valley Road, Ellicott City MD 21042.
