129th Council

The 129th Diocesan Council is scheduled to be held at Faith REChurch, Baltimore, MD, November 5 and 6 2009. The Council will follow the pattern previously established by the REC by devoting the majority of attention and time to educate, edify and encourage the church. Business matters will be confined to Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Carefully read the schedule below for details of the council.

Wednesday, November 4
7:30 p.m. – Choir Rehearsal at Faith Church
7:30 p.m. – Clergy Meeting with Bishop Hicks at faith Church

Thursday, November 5
8:00 a.m. – Choir Rehearsal
8:45 a.m. – Hospitality at Faith Church
9:00 a.m. – Registration
10:00 a.m. – Holy Communion
Noon – Lunch
1:00 p.m. – Reading Session
2:00 p.m. – Business Session
7:00 p.m. – Dinner Buffet – Hilton Garden Inn/Campbell Room
Choir Rehearsal, Time TBA

Friday, November 6
Breakfast – on your own
8:00 a.m. – Choir Rehearsal
9:00 a.m. – Morning Prayer
9:45 a.m. – Workshop
11:45 a.m. – Business Session

Accommodations

Overnight accommodations have been arranged with Hilton Garden Inn White Marsh, 5015 Campbell Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21236 (410) 427-0600. Rooms have been reserved for our Council attendees under the code REC at a rate of $159 per night. The Hilton is expecting our reservations to be made by Friday, October 16. Choir

A choir is being assembled again this year to sing at the worship services. All from your parish who are attending Council (clergy, delegates, alternates, guests) are invited to participate in the choir. Note the choir rehearsal times listed on the above schedule. Notify Choirmaster Ron Riches via email as soon as possible if you are willing to sing in the choir (see the enclosed letter for detailed info).
